Introduction to Reverse Engineering
reIn this presentation we will be discussing the what how and why’s of Reverse Engineering.
Topics that we will cover are:
What is Reverse Engineering?
Why learn to Reverse Engineer Code?
How to learn to Reverse Engineer?
Introduction to x86 Assembly
We’ll discuss some of the most common tools used by many reverse engineers and basic usage of those tools. We will also get a hands on look on reverse engineering x86 assembly code and the basics of runtime patching to change program behavior.
In order to get the most out of this presentation it is advisable to have access to a Windows Operating system (preferably XP or 7). OllyDBG/ImmDBG, PEID and CFF Explorer(links will be provided for these tools at the presentation)
After the talk we will be having a mini CTF applying talks concepts.
